Columbine Hall outing.

Our trip to Columbine Hall, with a tour of the gardens followed by tea and cake. From what I have heard this was thoroughly enjoyed by those who went. I count go as I am nursing a broken bone in my leg, very annoyed.
I do hope someone has some photos to share.

WAFA ELIMINATION

Well, sorry EAST OF ENGLAND, but I didn’t win! So, no free trip to Australia.
We transported mainly native flowers in searing heat to Warwickshire.
We stayed in an “interesting” pub, but it didn’t cost the area much.
13 areas competed, and I have to say there were some lovely designs, didn’t really like the winner, but that is just personal choice.

Suffolk Show

Chairman Jenni had a good week at the Suffolk show last week, despite the searing heat.

MAY OPEN DAY

What an amazing day we had at Wortwell Community Centre. The morning speaker Lucy Skellorn, “My family and other irises” was so informative and such a lovely lady.
We then had a delicious lunch as usual provided by Anglian Catering.
In the afternoon we were entertained by Catherine Gledhill, who had us in stitches with her funny stories and her humour....

25 April 2026 Jenni won this round of the elimination. She now goes to Warwickshire in July where she will compete against the rest of GB.

Area Day at Mildenhall

Some of us attended the Area Day held at Mildenhall on Saturday. The demonstrator was Jo Purdy, a newly qualified national demonstrator. She was a breath of fresh air, and certainly one we might be booking for one of our open days.
